For today's WTUI challenge Michelle is asking us to Go Non-Traditional by using something other than paper on our cards, like cork. Having used cork for my sample, and being on a day off today, I thought I'd play around with burlap since I recently bought half a yard of it.
I stuck it to some double-sided adhesive, and painted with white acrylic where I wanted to stamp my image.
Down the left side I used a remaining scrap from my Serendipity Squares, TLC. attaching it with little metallic brads. Round the edges I rubbed some copper Treasure Wax and sprinkled a bit of gold EP over that while it was still sticky. Since the Serendipity strip wasn't a colour that would work with my favourite red for poppies, I had to go orange! I stamped the image with StazOn on the burlap, and coloured it with Sharpies and H2Os, with a hint of Stickles in the centre of the larger flower.
I added a Dymo sentiment and a button with twine, and then found a little bee from K&Co to add to finish it off.

Love the way you created space for stamping on your burlap Sabrina. BTW my mom is feeling much better on new meds-she'll have scans the end of this month or next which will tell how effective the meds are in halting the growth of the metastases, but it has been wonderful to see her feeling so much better. Thanks for your prayers!

So creative! Stamping over white acrylic paint is a super idea. The rustic feel of this is wonderful, while still adding a pretty flower to sweeten the deal.

I was going to use burlap on my cork but it was just too close to the same color!!! I do love it for making a layer though, like you did here!!! Fantastic!
